WELCOME TO WARRENTON

Warrenton is a strong, growing community that boasts the ability to retain its small town atmosphere. It is the perfect distance from big cities to provide a rural neighborly vibe, yet within less than an hour drive you could be in either downtown St. Louis or the university town of Columbia. Warrenton is the central stopping point for travelers headed to Mizzou football games, the Lake of the Ozarks, or to Missouri Wine country. Warrenton is also home to two uniquely challenging golf courses. If hunting, fishing or horseback adventures are more your style, then Warrenton is the place to bring your outdoor enthusiasm.

Established in 1864, Warrenton was named for Joseph Warren, who served as President of the Revolutionary Massachusetts Provincial Congress. He enlisted Paul Revere and William Dawes for their historical ride. Ranked as Major General, he was killed in action at the Battle of Bunker Hill which galvanized the rebel forces behind the American Revolution.

The area’s natural beauty and westward expansion has brought many families and businesses to Warrenton. Today, over 8,000 people call Warrenton home. Warrenton has direct access to both rail and interstate traffic via Interstate 70. Manufacturing consists of light industry, a copper foundry which is now run as a scrap metal recycling. Several quarries are located in the area. The town's primary sources of external revenue are service facilities for travelers.

Stop by and visit, you just might make Warrenton your home.
